Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, CSSC, has won an order for a 9,500 cbm Multi-Purpose Gas Carrier from Chinese ship owner Southwest Shipping. Delivery by September 2021, the contract price has not been disclosed. Tianjin Southwest Shipping Co., LTD is an old customer of Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, has built 2 ships of 12,800 tons of asphalt tanker.

The new ship signed this time is a small multi-purpose gas carrier, with a total length of 119.6m, a width of 19.8m, a depth of 11.3m, a design draft of 6.9m, a structural draft of 7.6 m, about 7,700 deadweight tons, a service speed of 14.0 kn, a range of 11,000 nautical miles, classified as CCS classification. The ship is equipped with the world"s first low-speed dual-fuel main engine (Tier-III) with the smallest cylinder diameter, highest performance index and the most advanced 400mm cylinder diameter. It is capable of transporting LNG, liquefied ethylene (LEG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and other gases with good market adaptability and flexibility. The type C tank used in this project is the main flow tank structure of small multi-purpose gas ship at present, which has the advantages of mature technology, simple structure.
