Wilson, the listed Norwegian shortsea shipping group, has ordered three 2,600dwt bulk carriers from the Wuxue Janda Shipbuilding yard in Hubei, China. The three ships are scheduled to be delivered in 2016 and each cost about EUR3.3 million (USD3.5 million). The company has obtained refund guarantees from the shipyard. Wilson operates a fleet of 111 vessels, of which 16 are in the 2,000dwt range. Its Wilson EuroCarriers dry bulk fleet employs 107 vessels in the 1,500dwt to 8,500dwt range and also has three container ships. The group's ships carried 14.5 million tonnes of cargo last year, an increase from 14.1 million in 2013.
