Cobelfret buys two ro-ros |
Belgian shipowner Cobelfret has contracted two large ro-ro cargo ships from Hyundai Mipo of South Korea. The 8,000 lane metre ships, which will be among the largest such vessels in the world, are booked for delivery during 2017 and have been priced at approximately USD93 million each. They are expected to operate in Cobelfret's north European shortsea trade, which is focused on unaccompanied trailer traffic together with vehicles for major auto manufacturers. Cobelfret presently owns 22 ro-ro vessels, of which two are chartered out, according to the IHS Maritime database. |
